I’m Akshat Uniyal. I write about AI, systems, and engineering judgment — what it actually takes to move from impressive demos to production systems that hold up under real-world constraints.

Where this perspective comes from
For nearly two decades, I’ve worked on enterprise systems that had to work. Not just in controlled environments, but under pressure — with scale, ambiguity, cross-functional dependencies, and real accountability.
Today, as Director of Programming, I lead a 100+ member cross-functional team spanning engineering, QA, UI/UX, and SEO. My focus is identifying where AI and automation can genuinely elevate how an organization operates — and architecting governed AI ecosystems that deliver enterprise-grade reliability and measurable business ROI.
Working at that breadth teaches you something most AI conversations miss: technical depth alone is not enough. Systems succeed when architecture, execution, and ownership move together. That experience is the lens for everything I write here.
What I believe
The model is rarely the whole story. Real AI adoption is about the system around it — data quality, retrieval, guardrails, evaluation, governance, and ownership. That’s why I keep coming back to the same principle:
Start with the problem, not the model. Design the system, not just the prompt.
Because in production, reliability beats novelty every time.
